2048 is a classic puzzle game where players slide numbered tiles on a 4x4 board to merge them together. Each move will combine the same tiles to form a new tile with a double value. The ultimate goal is to create a tile with the number 2048 or more as you reach your new peak.

How to play 2048

Use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys and the WASD key combination to slide all the tiles in one direction. When two tiles with the same number touch, they will merge into a new, higher tile. Each successful combination will add new numbers; when the board is full, the game will end.

Best strategy to play

Hold a set angle to get the big tiles to that spot. Put the tiles in rows or columns, with the bigger tiles at the top and the smaller ones at the bottom. This will make it easier to handle. Don't just slide around aimlessly; each move should have a reason for being there. Keep the board clean.

Make empty space your top priority so it's easy to move small tiles. Don't put together too many small tiles too soon; first, build the bases to make the tiles bigger. When the board is almost full, clear the way first instead of starting to merge at random.
