Chainle

If you’ve grown bored with traditional crossword puzzles or the tedious process of guessing individual letters, Chainle offers a revolutionary new way to think.

It’s an online daily word-association puzzle game! Your task isn’t to fill in blanks, but to discover the "invisible threads" that connect words that might otherwise seem completely unrelated.

Clues might point toward the same object, suggest a specific action, form part of a familiar phrase, or share a more abstract, underlying meaning. In Chainle, every word you enter acts as a bridge—one that you’ve created yourself.

How to play Chainle

In each round, you have to guess one English word that connects the clues. An entire game consists of 5 rounds; the difficulty increases as you go along:

Rounds 1-3: You get 2 clue words. Find a third word that fits both.

Round 4: Things get a little tougher now. You have to discover 1 word that relates to 3 different hints. This round is all about words that can signify more than one thing, or have a more general, all-encompassing definition.

Round 5: For this last round you need to think of a term that is closely, fundamentally related (semantically or by an attribute) to one of the basic clues. Think about alternative words, key features or essential notions.

Scoring

Each round is worth a maximum of 1,000 points, for a total of 5,000 points per game. Once you submit your answer, the system will analyze the data and display the "strength" of the connection. If your chosen word fits one clue perfectly but feels extremely forced for another, your score will drop significantly.

Many English words are both nouns and verbs, or have completely different meanings based on context. Use this adaptability when you find clues that seem irrelevant or "out of sync."

Sometimes the link is just a typical everyday action, a natural feature, or a popular compound word.

Round 4: Your selected term must be related to all three clues. "If you miss one point, you will lose a lot of points.
